2005 Old Vine Pinot Meunier

2005 Old Vine Pinot Meunier

A great example of Pinot Meunier produced off the heavy clay soils at our Concongella vineyard. The wines of this vineyard have a natural ability to age usually beyond 15 years. The 2005 is no exception. Drinking well at the now, developing some light meaty character, is still has some legs to go further.

Referred to as “Millers Burgundy” in Henry Best’s daily journal, these original Concongella vines are considered among the oldest vines in Australia. In culinary terms Meunier means dusted in flour. The vine leaves have a fine white gossamer appearance, hence “Millers Burgundy”
