It’s summer – time for a Riesling!
With momentum building about the Summer of Riesling in Australia we’re super excited to be showcasing our 2011 Riesling – a perfect match for the hot summer days and great partner with food!
Though our Great Western Riesling is fruit driven and has minerality like other great Rieslings, the region and our vineyards impart softness, chalkiness and a lingering presence of cleansing citrus-flavoured acidity. Freshness from Great Western in key, but the high drinkability and fruit vibrancy is essential to matching so many different types of foods.
Adam talks a little about our 2011 Best’s Great Western Riesling in this short video.
Of the great food and wine matches, Riesling is a great match for Asian foods. Spice and Riesling make a superb partnership; where chilli brings heat, Riesling brings refreshment. The pure, vibrant citrus fruit flavours in our Great Western Riesling likewise complement fennel, lemongrass, Thai basil, white pepper, coriander and other Southeast Asian herbs.
