The Grampians wine region is a picturesque, historically significant and renowned wine-producing area in Victoria, Australia. It is located approximately 230 kilometers northwest of Melbourne. The Grampians is characterized by its stunning natural landscapes, rugged mountain ranges, and diverse vineyards. The Grampians wine region is known for producing high-quality wines, particularly Shiraz. Shiraz thrives in the cool climate and unique terroir of the area. You can also find excellent Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, elegant Chardonnays and crisp Rieslings amongst many other varietals in our Grampians wine cellar doors.

Across the Grampians region there are multiple cellar doors with experiences that offer visitors the chance to sample a wide range of wines directly from the producer. Grampians Wine producers are passionate about their craft and take pride in sharing their knowledge about the wines they make. Visitors can learn about the unique characteristics of the Grampians (Gariwerd) region and the winemaking techniques employed by each winery. There are also several producers who don’t not have a cellar door but can be sampled at Grampians Wine Cellar in Halls Gap or at any of the events and festivals throughout the year which celebrate the local wine culture. These events often include wine tastings, food pairings, live music, workshops and other entertainment, making them a perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the region’s vibrant wine scene.

Grampians Estate

Grampians Estate has emerged as one of the Grampians region’s premier boutique wineries. With its elegant cool-climate shiraz and sparkling shiraz leading the way, the winery produces a wide range of award-winning wines.Sarah and Tom Guthrie have developed the brand over 20 years since the first vines were planted in 1989 however they also care for a small parcel of shiraz vines that date back to 1878.

Seppelt

When you visit Great Western, you can tour the underground cellars and taste the award winning, luxury wines. The cellar door is open 7 days a week. Situated in the foothills of the Grampians, with plenty of room for the kids to enjoy the acres of lawn. The Great Western winery was founded in 1865 by Joseph Best, with the excavation of The Drives commencing in 1868. These cellars are known to this day as ‘The Drives’. Underground Cellar Tours 7 days a week between the hours of 11am until 3pm, Bookings recommended.

Clayfield Wines

Winemaker Simon Clayfield was once winemaker at Best’s Wines and now operates Clayfield Wines, a small boutique winery that specialises in the limited production of award winning Grampians Shiraz. Clayfield’s winemaking is done simply. Winemaking with traditional principles including using an old hand operated basket press. Simon believes that if ancient civilizations naturally made wine, drank it and enjoyed it then; it’s good enough for us now.

Pomonal Estate

Pomonal Estate is a newly established Winery, Microbrewery and Cider House located in picturesque town of Pomonal. We are just 10 minutes from Halls Gap and nestled alongside the Grampians National Park in Victoria. Adam and Pep have a small family business and they pride them selves on producing beautiful Grampians regional wines, delicious range of small batch locally crafted beers and ciders along with and providing and supporting wonderful local produce in our Café and Cellar Door.

Mt Langi Ghiran

Established in 1969, now home to one of Australia’s most iconic cool climate wines, Langi Shiraz. Mount Langi Ghiran – Aboriginal for home of the yellow tailed black cockatoo – is set amongst the dramatic backdrop of the Great Dividing Range in the Grampians region of Victoria. Visible from our vineyard, Mount Cole State Forest is a walker’s paradise. Mountainside Wines is a family owned and operated vineyard and winery which is situated at the base of Mount Cole at the south eastern end of the Grampians wine region. Montara

In 1970, the McRae family planted the first Montara vineyards on the eastern slopes of Mount Chalambar, a site chosen for its frost-free location. The inaugural Montara vintages were released in 1977. In 2006 Montara was acquired by the Stapleton family, this dynamic group of six siblings has given Montara a youthful exuberance, where tradition meets a new era of winemaking. They are firm believers that wine brings people together, so you will often find the Stapletons celebrating life with beautiful food, music, and wine.

Miner’s Ridge

Nestled on a gentle ridge in the foothills of Western Victoria’s Grampians region, Miners Ridge Wines is home to some of the region’s finest wines. Katrina and Andrew have been growers for several decades, priding themselves on producing high quality fruit. Miner’s Ridge produce Shiraz, Cabernet and Chardonnay as well as some more alternative varieties such as Nebbiolo and Tempranillo.

Fratin Brothers Vineyard is nestled between the rolling hills and picturesque surrounds of the Great Dividing Range in Western Victoria, 50 km south east of the Grampians National Park. The brothers produce elegant cool climate wines with classic varietals such as Shiraz, Merlot and Chardonnay. Alternative varieties include Tempranillo and Sangiovese and the GST blend. Mount Staplyton Wines

Mount Stapylton Vineyard lies on the western slopes of the Grampians on the foothills of the Mount Stapylton range. Established in 2002, the vineyard consists of Shiraz and Grenache grapes. Their vineyard was planted on the historic Goonwinnow property beneath the iron-rich sandstone cliffs. Mount Stapylton’s vines are meticulously nurtured, hand-pruned and the grapes are hand-picked to ensure only the best quality fruit makes it to the bottle.
