2021 Great Western Rosé

2021 Great Western Rosé

Colour: Pale onion skin with salmon hue.
Bouquet: Bright aromatics of stone fruits, melon and biscotti.
Palate: Slippery fruit with a savoury finish. If you love dry, you will love this wine.
Pairing: Bring it to a picnic, with lots of fresh salads, creamy cheeses, and crusty bread.
Vintage: An excellent season with near perfect growing conditions right through to harvest. Adequate winter and spring rainfalls set the wines up to burst into life and sustain beautifully balanced growth throughout the summer. Autumn was ideal with little rainfall and warm conditions to ensure the grapes matured gracefully.

Region: Great Western, Victoria
Grape Variety: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Shiraz
Alcohol: 13%
Winemaker: Justin Purser

Liven yet savoury zing on this Pinot Meunier dominant Rose. Sumac Watermelon. Damn. Confected Christmas cake fruit, cherry, orange peel. umami notes- mushroom, earth- act as harmonious seasoning which adheres an interesting backbone for this delicate Rose. Cranberry juice and red apple skins. A decent amount of complexity holds my interest and I can not help wanting to pull some ashed goats cheese from the fridge. Fine peppery spice and macerated strawberries reign on its crisp finish.

Stone fruit dominant nose with a hint of peach … Crisp with a very dry and clean finish … Not at all cloying on the palate like Rose in this country … A glass of Western district sunshine perfect for summer … Will go perfectly with charcuterie and antipasto … we enjoyed this with smoked salmon and spicy smashed avocado…
