2018 Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir was first planted in the Nursery Block at Best’s in the late 1860’s. The original Best’s plantings are now thought to be the oldest Pinot Noir vines in the world, and one of these clones is thought to exist nowhere else in the world.
After the spring frosts of 2017 that desimated our Concongella vineyard where 2/3rds of Pinot Noir is grown, this wine has stood up with just over 90% of the fruit coming from this vineyard. The balance was the only fruit picked off our Concongella vineyard in 2018.
