1999 FHT Shiraz
Viv Thomson notes: " As a result of severe spring frosts in 1998, the 1999 vintage was reduced to 20% of our average harvest. The meager yield combined with ideal ripening conditions produced a wine, which I consider unique, and comparable only with the best vintages of Shiraz produced from the Concongella vineyard. As such we have noted this vintage with the initials F.H.T. in the memory of my late father Frederick Hamill Thomson.”
A lifted and intense bouquet of warm violets, cedar and cherry. White pepper dominates the palate providing length and roundness with rich dark chocolate, plums, raspberry and cherry undertones that build on the palate, producing a very complex and enjoyable wine.
