4 May 2010 - SMH Good Living - "The years have been kind." Huon Hooke looks at the story behind some of the old Best's vines and comments about why these make such remarkable wines. Whilst our iconic Thomson Family Shiraz is clearly the standout, Huon also notes “While Thomson Family is very scarce and expensive, the Bin no. O Shiraz ($65) is damn near as good and deserves a critique of its own. It’s based on old vines planted in 1966 and 1970, belended with younger-vine fruit and is one of the most elegant and cellar -worthy shirazes in the land. And sicne 2000 ther’s a Bin No1 Shiraz ($25) a delicious wine destined for earlier consumption.”
